How to fix 7 Days to Die crashing?

Fix 1- Force use of DirectX 10:

Many users have reported that any DirectX version other than the Version 10 causes the game to crash down. DirectX is a necessity for playing games on your PC as it ensures that your audio and video hardware sync well with the gameplay. A wrong version of DirectX is all it takes for 7 Days to Die to crash down. So we will take a look at a way to force the use of DirectX 10 on your PC.

  • Click on your search bar and type Steam in it.
  • Open up the Steam client app when it shows up.
  • Here click on the library button at the top. It will show all the games you have on your system that requires Steam.
  • Look for the icon for 7 Days to Die here, and when you find it, right-click on it and select properties.
  • Click on the General tab in the new window that pops up and click on the option Set Launch Options.
  • Here enter the launch option “-force-feature-level–10–0” without the quotes. If there is already another launch option, then make sure you provide a blank space between this new one and the older one.
  • Click on Ok, and this will save the changes. Now try relaunching the game and see if the same problem occurs again.

Fix 2- Verify the Integrity of the Game files:

More often than not, with random game crashes, the reason turns up to be corrupted game files. In that scenario, just tweaking around and looking for a fix won’t do the job. Without the files necessary to run the game optimally, the game will keep on crashing. So the best thing to do here would be to check whether or not you have all the game files. Sometimes an antivirus might detect a game file as a threat and remove it from your system. To see if you are facing something similar, try checking the integrity of the game files.

  • Click on the Local Files tab and then click on the option to Verify the Integrity of Game Files.

Wait for some time till the process completes and see if all your game files are intact. If not, then you might have to reinstall the game.

Fix 3- Disable Motion Blur:

As mentioned above, the crash of 7 Days to Die is related to graphics issues. The trigger for these graphics issues could be the option Motion Blur. The Motion Blur option in the game makes the game more cinematic and smooth. But that could also lead to some random crashes. So we need to disable it.

  • Open up the steam Client application.
  • Click on the library option at the top.
  • From the list of games you have here, right-click on 7 Days to Die and select Play Game.
  • Now when the game’s main menu opens up, go to Settings and then choose Video.
  • Now on the right side, you should see an option called Motion Blur. Click on the box next to it, and from the drop-down menu, choose the option off.
  • Now click on Apply and then click on Ok.

Try playing the game now and see if the problem occurs again. If it does, then try the final fix mentioned below.

Fix 4- Using the 32-bit version of Steam:

It is a bit more complicated than the previous fixes as here you need to use the SteamCMD to install the 32-bit Steam client on to your system, and then the 32-bit version game as well. So, just follow the instructions step by step, and you should not have any problem.
