To make connectivity more accessible, the Chrome browser has this feature called “Send to your Devices.” It lists all the devices from which you logged into the Chrome browser. Obviously, in today’s date, a person at the minimum makes use of a PC, one or two smartphones. So, Send to Your Devices keeps everything connected so that when a user switches from PC to mobile, then he can still access his choice of webpages.

This feature would be active only when you have turned on the sync for the Gmail account on which you have signed in on your device. It is a useful feature for someone who uses multiple devices. However, there could be other users as well who would not want every webpage to send to their mobile devices or PC. So, in this guide, we will tell you how to disable Send Link to your Devices in Chrome.

We will explain the disabling of Send to your Device feature for various platforms like Windows/macOS PC, Android OS, and iOS.

If we disable this feature, then upon right-clicking any active internet tab, we won’t see the send to device feature in the status bar. Now, let’s explain the steps that will help you do this.

Step-1 In the open Chrome Browser, click on the three-dot on the right side of the screen.

Step-2 When the drop-down menu opens, click on Settings

Step-3 Click on Sync and Google Services > Click on Manage Sync

Step-4 You will see a number of tabs. Scroll down to Open Tabs. Tap on the toggle to grey it out/disable.

That’s it. Now, any active tab will not be sent to other mobile devices on which you are logged to Chrome.

Now, let’s move on to the Android OS and see how we can accomplish the same on an Android smartphone.

Disabling the feature won’t show active Tabs open on other devices when you tap on the Recent Tabs menu on your Android device.

  • Go to Settings > tap on Sync and Google services > tap on Manage Sync.
