Instagram wasn’t designed for chatting purposes, despite that people have been using it for sending Direct messages. However, those who are using it as the main messenger are having an issue organizing and managing their Instagram chats. Such users often ask if it is possible to delete all Instagram Direct messages in one go.

Texts from your friends and spam will get mixed together and will take a lot of your time to distinguish. Therefore, you would want to delete some of the Instagram chats. However, Instagram keeps unknown direct messages in another folder. But if you reply to those messages, these messages automatically show in your Instagram inbox messages and can become pretty difficult to manage altogether.

Method 1: Tap and hold Delete Instagram Chat

It is a common way to delete a chat with someone on Instagram and remove it from your Insta-inbox. However, the other person will still have a chat. If you want to delete the messages for the other users too, then you will have to Unsend messages.

Step 1: Firstly, open up the Instagram app on your smartphone, then click on the Paper Airplane icon located in the top right corner of the screen to open up your Instagram inbox.

Step 2: Now, in the inbox, just tap and hold on to the conversation, which you want to delete until the prompts pop up. OR you can also drag the conversation to the left and bring the Delete option. Also, from the prompt, select the delete option to delete the Instagram conversation.

Step 3: A confirmation prompt may appear, click on Delete to confirm it, and delete the conversation.

Method 2: Tap and Delete a Single Message on Instagram

For those who want to delete a particular message from a conversation or want to remove all your messages for the conversation. Then you can use the Unsend feature of Instagram.

However, you will have to do it manually. You can’t just select all your messages like Facebook and Unsend them. You will have to select each message from the conversation and Unsend it. Just follow the steps mentioned below to do so.

Step 1: Open your Instagram application, then click on the Paper Airplane icon and head over to your Instagram inbox.

Step 2: Click open the conversation from which you want to delete messages. Then in the conversation, Tap and Hold the message and wait for the prompt to appear.

Step 3: From the prompt click on the Unsend Message to Unsend the message, you can Unsend all of your messages. If you do these steps continuously, one by one for each message then eventually you will delete complete chats.

Method 3: Using AutoClicker to Delete all the Instagram chats

There are many apps that can simulate virtual taps, click, and swipes automatically on your phone’s screen, but AutoClicker stands out from most of them. Though it is a very powerful application, you can use it for almost anything like tap gaming, etc. Here we will use the app to continuously delete Instagram conversations automatically.

However, to do so first, you must install the app from Google Play Store and then set it up for the task. Just follow the steps mentioned below to do so.

Step 1: Firstly, open up both Instagram and the AutoClicker app on your Smartphone. Then in the Auto Clicker app, click on the Enable button under the Multi-Targets Mode section.

Step 2: After that, Auto Clicker will show you the instructions on different tools that you can use in Multi-Targets mode to automate a certain task.

Now, open up the Instagram app and click on the Paper Airplane icon, and head over to your Instagram DM conversations.

You can see the AutoClicker tools on the left of your screen. There click on the Green + sign. This will create a swipe point. Make sure that you drag the swipe point from the first to the down conversation in your inbox.

Step 3: To instruct AutoClicker for tap and hold action, move the second circle inside the first circle. Then to set some few parameters, tap on the circle.

This will bring the Settings for the Swipe, there set the delay to 1000 milliseconds and the time to 1000 milliseconds, once done click on the OK button.

Step 4: Now in the inbox again, tap and hold a conversation and see where the Delete options appear on the screen. Then from the context menu of AutoClicker, click and select the green + sign again to add a swipe point. Add and drag the swipe point to where the Delete option will appear on the screen.

After that, you can tap the delete line to move the tasks along, but once again, you will have to select the Green + sign and add a swipe point to the appropriate spot to hit the Cancel option to not delete a conversation.

Once it’s done, click on the Autoclicker Settings icon that looks like a gear. Name the script, check the run indefinitely option to run the command infinite times without human intervention.

Also, you can check the Amount of cycles option and specify the times you want to run the process. Then click on the Save button to save the settings and hit the Run arrow to start the script, and delete your Instagram DM conversations all at once.
